Men’s Qualification and Tournament Structure
The top 10 teams in the T20 Rankings will automatically qualify and the remaining 6 places will be fought for in the world cup qualifiers. The top 8 teams out of the top 10 in the rankings will go straight through to the super 12s and the bottom 2 in the top 10 will be placed into the group stage (There are two groups) with the teams who went through the qualifiers. After the group stage, the top 2 teams from each group will go through to the super 12s. There are two super 12 groups and the top 2 from each group will go into the semi-finals. Finally the winners from each semi-final will face each other in the final.
Women’s Qualification and Tournament Structure
For the women, the top 8 teams from the 2018 tournament will qualify and the other two places will be fought for in the qualifiers. All 10 teams are then split into two groups of 5 for the group stages. The top 2 teams from each group will then progress into the semi-finals. Then the winners from each semi-final will face each other in the final.
Dates
The Men’s competition will be held between 18th October 2020 – 15th November 2020 and the Women’s competition will be held between 21st February 2020 – 8th March 2020.
